Goodbye, Mr. Moore...Gone But, Never Forgotten

I learned today that my favorite 'Bond,' Sir Roger Moore has passed away after a brief bout with cancer. I am crushed beyond words. Even as I write this now, I have a lump in my throat and trying to choke back the tears. I remember when I was a little girl, my father had some of the James Bond movies on VHS. I remember right before a 007 movie would come on, there was a featurette of the Pink Panther cartoon. Then, the first Bond I remember was Roger Moore. I think even at that young age, I had a bit of a crush because he was so charming and charismatic. Which at the time I thought that was how my favorite spy was supposed to be. Even as I got older and allowed myself to get caught up in the "Connery vs. Moore: Who was the better James Bond?" arguments, I always stood firm of the belief that Roger was the better one, despite the fact that Sean Connery was the first. I didn't care and still don't. Roger was and is my favorite to play the character aside from…

Born Days Pop Up: Skrillex/Kid Cudi Birthday Celebration Review

It is party time! Put on your best dancing shoes and cocktail dress and join Born Days' events (which can be featured on Born Days celebrates celebrity birthdays. This week they honored Kid Cudi's and Skrillex's birthdays respectively. My friend Melanie, whose birthday was January 18th, had come up with the idea to go to the birthday celebration at the Hudson Terrace.
So we put on our best clothes and headed to the party. After coat check we climbed up the stairs to the third floor. I must admit that the place looked very nice. It had a lovely view of the Intrepid. But to see it, you would have to be sitting in the far right side of the room to get the full effect of the view. There were seating booths but after a time we weren't allowed to sit there. The room in my opinion didn't have enough space for a large amount of people to dance in. So, we spent a large amount of time just sitting and talking and enjoying the sights and sounds.

Never Let Go: A Billionaire Widow BWWM Love Story Review

Never Let Go: A Billionaire Widow BWWM Love Story by Amy Tyson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Never Let Go by Amy Tyson is one of those books that pulled on my heart strings. It was my first book that I've read that one of the main characters were dead at the beginning of the book. It was nice to see Drew through Amy's eyes. I won't give too much away, but I think Tyson captures the emotions of Amy, a woman who just lost her husband and now has to go on without him, while she is pregnant with their child.

Throughout the novel, Amy stays as strong as she possibly can even while dealing with the fact that Drew's parents hate her. In fact, one scene when Amy and Drew go out of their way to upset his parents was great! But their hatred aside doesn't deter Amy from protecting herself from them. Live the love of her brother and her friends, she keeps it together, when some people probably wouldn't be able to.

The novel does a good job of showing the reader what Drew and Amy…

Irish Billionaire's Revenge (A BWWM Romance) Review

Irish Billionaire's Revenge by Destiny Davis
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

Let me start off by saying, that I really tried to like this book. This was my first Destiny Davis book and I do not want to sound rude, but I honestly do not understand how anyone can publish a novel with so many grammatical errors in it. In addition, to the errors I had trouble understanding why Max was so hellbent on ruining Denora's life.

Why didn't he look further into whether or not Denora had criminal ties to her father? He has the money, he could have made things far more easier for himself if he had just took a minute and realize that she had nothing to with his sister's death. (Spoiler) Why did Denora sleep with him when she barely knew him? Not too mention, when she discovers she is pregnant after Max's accident, she is like virtually surprised. Um, not once did they use any kind of protection, so why is she so shocked? (Spoiler)

WinCon: Women in Comics 2016

Hi guys,

Welcome to another review.  I haven't written a review in a while, but this one is so worth it!

Today was the Women in Comics (WinC) Convention at the Bronx Library Center and I must saw it was totally awesome!

There were tons of artwork, some I was fortunate to take pictures of. There were also panel discussions that were held in the auditorium. One discussion that my friend, Melanie and I attended was the panel about Voices from the Margins: Mis/Representations of Race, Gender and Sexuality in Comics. It was very interesting to hear from the panelists, their views about how women in comics are portrayed sexually. For example, why women characters are drawn with large breasts with a slender figure. It was very interesting to hear how they got their start in comics and who were their favorite comic book characters.

After the panel ended, we walked back to the main floor and took pictures of the comics and artwork on display.

But what caught my attention was a table where y…
